Temples

Relief Society seemed to really hit me today as we discussed the temple.  I thought of the primary song "I love to see the temple" when we were asked to list on the board of one word that you think of when you hear the word temple.  I loved the list:
God's House
Service
Love
Covenants
Beauty
Happiness
Families
The list went on and on.  I loved the quote given by Gordon B Hinckley:
“These unique and wonderful buildings [the Temples of the Church], and the ordinances administered therein, represent the ultimate in our worship. These ordinances become the most profound expressions of our theology. I urge our people everywhere, with all of the persuasiveness of which I am capable, to live worthy to hold a temple recommend, to secure one and regard it as a precious asset, and to make a greater effort to go to the house of the Lord and partake of the spirit and the blessings to be had therein. I am satisfied that every man or woman who goes to the temple in a spirit of sincerity and faith leaves the house of the Lord a better man or woman. There is need occasionally to leave the noise and the tumult of the world and step within the walls of a sacred house of God, there to feel His spirit in an environment of holiness and peace."


One thing I kept thinking about after reading that quote was about how President Hinckley not only made this such an important thing throughout this, but he has served US in the church by making smaller temples ALL OVER THE WORLD for us to be able to attend regularly and have easy access. 

Living in Utah, it is fun for me to be able to just decide one day to change my clothes and go on a walk to the temple, do baptisms and return home within 2 hours.  I was able to attend yesterday and it was a great experience to gather thoughts and look at the beauty of the earth before going to the house of the Lord.  Another cool thing I experienced a couple of months ago was a date I went on with Brian.  He told me the day before that we were going to go to the temple.  When we got in the car to drive, he gave me his itouch with directions to somewhere else..  He took me to a temple 30 minutes further: the Timponogos temple.  How blessed I am to be in a state with so many of the Lord's temples that when Brian says, lets go to the temple, I have to ask "which one?"

Temple recommends have been urged on us to get..even if we can't attend due to not living in a country with one.  We should be worthy and hold that recommend as a sign of importance the Lord is to us.

Those were just my thoughts today.  I love to see the temple.  Im going there someday...

Fun in the Arizona Sun

Brian and I decided to head down to Arizona this weekend to visit David and Cami and their kids.   We had lots of fun as we went Hiking, out to eat, shopping, etc!  They are so nice to take us around Phoenix.  Here are just a few pictures of some of the fun things we did..

Appendix gone mad!

This is my hospital stay.  The picture on the left is of me before the appendix was taken out, and the picture on the right is the next morning right before Sarah and Brian left.  Sarah slept in my bed and helped me up about 6 times that night so i could go to the bathroom.. She is such a sweetheart.

Brigham Young University

Brian Hayes took me bowling last weekend. I didnt know we were bowling, so I dressed up really cute for the date. I had hot new boots on with my trendy outfit i got from Carin for Christmas. To my dismay, I have a huge fashon Faux Pax.. I am Really glad he still likes me though! :)
